Job description

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, work orders, and quality standards. This role utilizes precision measurement tools, completes accurate documentation, identifies non-conformances, and supports quality processes across departments. The position requires collaboration with peers and adherence to quality procedures to maintain high product standards and regulatory compliance.
Shift: 2nd, Monday - Thursday, 4:30 PM - 2:00 AM
15% shift premium for all 2nd shift hours worked!
What You'll Do:
  • Conduct visual inspections using functional gauges and visual overlays to assess compliance of in-process and finished products with customer specifications, work orders, drawings, job routers, and established visual standards.
  • Operate measurement equipment such as Micro-Vu, Keyence systems, optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, and functional gauges for detailed product inspections.
  • Complete inspection records, checklists, and other work order documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming products, generating nonconformance reports as required.
  • Accurately document information on Shop Travelers, inspection sheets, and related forms to ensure proper traceability.
  • Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate throughout each stage of the job process.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and other departments to maintain a cohesive and efficient team environment.
  • Support additional quality-related tasks or projects as directed by supervisors or management.

What You'll Need:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints with foundational knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and inspection methodologies.
  • Demonstrated mathematical aptitude, including managing units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements like 21 CFR 820.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is preferred but not required; must show a willingness to learn CMM operations.
