Job description

Applied Composites is seeking CMM Operator - 3rd Shift will inspect a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions. Will identify moderately difficult quality issues in design, process or other inefficiencies to meet quality requirements


Essential Functions:


  • Performs Operator Level inspections with CMM equipment of various types
  • Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
  • Participates in analysis statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
  • Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items
  • Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues
  • Performs routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies and tooling
  • Conducts Internal audits and corrective action follow ups
  • Provides range of knowledge in metrology solutions including but not limited to: laser tracker/ PCMM inspections, machine alignments, reverse engineering, tool building and assembly, software and hardware training.
  • Generate inspection reports to customer specifications. This includes Drawing Based inspection reports, First Article Inspection Reports, Model Based Definition inspection reports, and Dimensional inspection reports.
  • Maintain equipment by performing field calibrations and verifying manufacturers maximum performance errors.
  • Maintain equipment's cleanliness using manufacturers specifications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
  • 3rd Shift with overtime required for this production position

  • Reports promptly any suspected or potential violations to laws, regulations, procedures, policies and practices, and cooperates in related investigation.
  • Conducts all transactions in compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable compliance and legal requirements of the job based on the scope of practice of the position.

Safety Requirements:

  • Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with Codes of Safe Practice, safety policies and emergency procedures.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

Education:


  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.


Experience:


  • Requires two (2) years of relevant experience in composite manufacturing or repair experience.


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues
  • Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment
  • Capable of following instructions and applying processes and procedures to standard routine tasks
  • Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches
  • Must have general knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Solid experience using Laser Trackers (Leica, Faro and API), PCMM's (Romer and Faro arms), 3D Laser scanners and Total Stations
  • Solid knowledge of Computer Aided Measuring software (Verisurf, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, Buildit etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Solid knowledge in blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Solid knowledge of 3D CAD
  • Knowledge in aerospace tooling, composites manufacturing and assembly

3rd Shift - 11:30pm-8:00am Plus Overtime as necessary
