Job description

Venturous, a leader in truck cap manufacturing, has an opening in our QC department for an experienced manufacturing QC Inspector. The Quality Control (QC) Inspector inspects our parts and products for defects and any deviations from specifications.

The inspector will discuss findings with those in charge of the products and recommend any required corrective actions. Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability and performance.

The Quality Control Inspector will maintain a hands-on role throughout the manufacturing process for systems compliance. This includes working as a team player to ensure customer orders are ready for on-time delivery, quality defects are at a minimum and system compliance is adhered to. Position will be working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and will need to stay focused and on task.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety policies and procedure
  • Inspect outgoing product to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
  • Communicate issues found using established reporting process. Assist operation and local quality function in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels
  • Responsible for the quality of all units being shipped
  • Assure top level quality is given to each and every truck cap that is produced
  • Observe assembly and quality assurance process to trace causes of production defects and confers with production quality manager and supervisors to resolve problems
  • Works as part of a team to ensure quality; interacts with other departments to troubleshoot
  • Maintain housekeeping as outlined on 5s communication board
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail with strong organization and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the product, assembly process, and procedure
  • Practical knowledge of tools and machinery involved in manufacturing process
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated work ethic and positive attitude
  • Experience working in an established Quality system is preferred
  • Problem-solving skills; possess the ability to make sound decisions with good judgment
  • Know how to read a tape measure and other instruments as required
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Cross training through out the QC departments
  • Bilingual English and Spanish

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is required to stand; walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms from overhead to floor level
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs
