SUMMARY:

BULL MOOSE TUBE COMPANY, a progressive organization in the manufacture of steel tubular products, is looking for an energetic; customer focused Quality Control Technician who wants to become a key contributor in an industrial manufacturing environment. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the implementation of quality standards and testing procedures for the plant. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that all finished products conform to applicable laws and company/customer standards. The Quality Control Technician also performs QC testing, record keeping, and welding inspections.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with quality issues with tube.
  2. Verify customer specifications; Perform physical testing as required.
  3. Investigate and assist in the resolution of material test reports or surface product quality issues.
  4. Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  5. Print and review mill schedules to identify key quality requirements. Perform product inspection on mill and in warehouse as required.
  6. Monitor and track process water and coolant concentration.
  7. Operates diagnostic equipment such as a Tensile Tester.
  8. Maintain gauge tracking system.
  9. Audit production to verify adherence to applicable specifications and customer requirements. Audit facility to verify compliance to Quality Management System.
  10. Prepare reports and maintain appropriate filing system.
  11. Other duties as required by Quality Manager or other plant leadership.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms.
  2. Ability to work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships.
  3. Ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration and participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  4. Ability to learn and comprehend machine operations.
  5. Problem/Solving Analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance.
  2. Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  3. QMS experience preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or work-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
