Job description

Description
ABOUT US
Okland is a commercial general contractor and construction management
company with more than 1,300 team members, delivering complex projects across
healthcare, semiconductor, higher education, sports, hospitality, and other
specialized markets. Founded in 1918 in Salt Lake City, we have grown for more
than a century and operate throughout Utah, Arizona, and Idaho.
What Makes Okland Different?
We Create Remarkable Experiences
We believe how we build is just as important as what we build, and we
approach every relationship with care. From clients and trade partners to team
members and communities, we focus on creating experiences that earn trust.
We Share Success
Okland combines the stability of family ownership with employee
ownership through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This unique structure
provides the long-term perspective, and values-driven leadership that have
guided our company for generations, while giving team members the opportunity
to share the success they help create.
We Build Better Together
Our culture is rooted in accountability, humility, and excellence. We
challenge the status quo, empower problem-solving, and trust our teams to take
ownership and act. We learn from one another and work toward shared goals to
deliver meaningful work with lasting impact. We invest in the next generation
of construction talent through apprenticeships, internships, and scholarships
for our communities. By expanding access for women, underrepresented groups,
and families of our craft workforce who are first-generation college students,
we strengthen the future of construction.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
If you bring deep expertise in quality management and building enclosure
systems, we want to talk to you. As a Senior Quality Control & Assurance
Manager, you'll lead QA/QC efforts across all phases of construction while
providing technical expertise in building envelopes, waterproofing, roofing,
subgrade barriers, and related exterior systems. You'll partner with project
teams, consultants, and trade partners to identify quality risks early, resolve
field issues, and ensure work is executed in accordance with design,
specifications, and manufacturer requirements. You'll also help strengthen
Okland's quality practices through training, investigation, root cause
analysis, and continuous improvement.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
  • Lead and improve Okland's QA/QC processes, systems, reporting, and metrics while training project teams and construction partners on quality expectations.
  • Participate in pre-construction and design-phase meetings to identify high-risk features of work, constructability concerns, and critical quality requirements before construction begins.
  • Provide technical expertise in building envelope systems, including moisture and air barriers, waterproofing, roofing, sealants, penetrations, openings, and other exterior systems.
  • Attend pre-installation and first-install meetings, review submittals and RFIs, and support mock-ups, features of work boards, and QA/QC checklists.
  • Inspect work in progress and verify installations comply with drawings, specifications, codes, and manufacturer requirements while troubleshooting quality issues in the field.
  • Lead investigations of building enclosure failures and existing conditions, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective solutions to improve system performance.
  • Track and analyze quality metrics, including rework cost, rework time, and non-compliant work response time, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with project teams, clients, consultants, and trade partners to communicate findings, recommendations, technical requirements, and project close-out needs.

YOU'RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in building enclosure, QA/QC, or a related construction discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising employees and/or consultants.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems, construction practices, and building codes.
  • Experience with quality management, field inspections, investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with construction technology and software.
  • Quality, building envelope, or professional credentials are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work in the field as needed.
