Job description

Heidtman Steel Products is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative to serve the Eastern US and Canada regions. The QA Rep will be responsible for customer support and communications, including investigating and resolving customer claims; internal quality issues and part evaluations; and assisting with purchasing and production.
  • Providing metallurgical and technical service to our customers and act as the liaison between the Company and the customer
  • Investigating customer complaints and/or rejections to determine the root cause and develop corrective actions
  • Providing technical support to sales, operations, resource planning, and purchasing
  • Conducting new part investigations and working with other departments to complete the contract review process required to successfully launch new business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Technical degree and/or experience in steel manufacturing.
  • Quality Management System experience.
  • Internal and external audit experience.
  • Proficient in quality tools, mathematics, and statistics.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and developing robust preventive actions.
  • Some overnight travel may be required, depending on customer base being supplied.
  • Metallography experience is a plus
