Job description

The Quality Assurance Manager manages the Quality function for Cone Drive operations, which encompasses two manufacturing plants and all supplier quality assurance processes. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manages and administers the Company's ISO 9001 processes, compliance, and audit representation  
  • Manages the Traverse City and Ludington plant quality systems and processes; Ensures that new product launches are proven through all steps of the quality processes
  • Manages supplier development and supplier quality assurance programs in tandem with Supply Chain
  • Manage all aspects of the laboratories and QC process, including instrument calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Manages a team of Quality Engineers, Quality Supervisor, Metrologist and hourly quality inspectors; Assign resources, tasks, and training within the quality team to ensure business needs are met
  • Manages and facilitates all customer communication relative to product warranty, corrective actions, and related matters

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 8 to 10 years' Quality Engineering experience; leadership experience highly preferred
  • High mix environment with aerospace experience highly preferred
  • Possesses a working knowledge of quality systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally to customers
  • Able to lead a team and act assertively when necessary to protect the customer

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).  Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
