Job description

Here at Lakeside Foods, our Quality Assurance team works hard to ensure safe and quality foods. The Quality Assurance Technician is a respected team member. If you are a creative, positive, self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail, we want to talk with you.

 What You'll Do:

  • Compile and maintain documentation, i.e. checking standards & weights, etc.
  • Collect and analyze samples for quality control.
  • Identify and report recurring quality issues and suggest improvements.
  • Use measuring tools like scales, calipers and product standards & utilize advanced measuring tools like micrometers, CMMs, digital gauges and statistical sampling methods.
  • Conduct routine tests to ensure products meet specifications and record inspection and test data accurately.
  • Maintain logs, reports, and other documentation for compliance and traceability.
  • Verify conditions meet established specifications.
  • Support programs and policies to ensure products are safe, legal, wholesome and meet specifications.
  • Report deviations or non-conformances to supervisors
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and QA teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
  • Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered. 

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • 1-3 year prior related experience and/or training, preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Math and measurement skills, ability to solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardizations exist
  • Computer skills for data entry purposes
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Familiarity with quality standards and inspection techniques
  • Understanding of customer specifications
  • HAACP Certification, preferred
