Job description

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative for our client in Portland, OR. Our client is an independent testing laboratory serving the food, agriculture, pet food, and consumer products industries. This role has no supervisory responsibilities, office environment; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client requests from initial contact through LIMS sample login; clarify submission details as needed
  • Generate sample IDs in LIMS/SAP and verify against client submission forms
  • Prepare quotes, receipt emails, and pricing communications; coordinate with Accounting on POs
  • Respond to client inquiries on services, turnaround times, and sample status; escalate as needed
  • Coordinate sample shipments to third-party labs
  • Maintain client files, sample logs, and communication records
  • Report LIMS/data issues to Supervisor; propose process improvements
  • Stay current on testing services through ongoing training


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma + 6–12 months of office or lab experience (or equivalent)
  • Customer service and administrative experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness


Preferred

  • Science or food testing background
  • Experience with LIMS, Crystal Reports, or international business environments
