Food Testing Laboratory Technician (Gluten Lab) – R&D Support

Location: Golden Valley, MN (Onsite)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Food Testing Laboratory Technician for an opportunity with one of our leading clients in the food manufacturing industry.

Position Overview

This position supports a high-volume Gluten Testing Laboratory responsible for analyzing food ingredients and finished products to ensure regulatory compliance and support product claims. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing, analyze results, maintain laboratory equipment, and support quality and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and analysis of food samples using established methods and procedures.
• Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for testing.
• Conduct wet chemistry testing and operate laboratory instrumentation.
• Analyze, interpret, and document test results accurately.
• Generate reports and ensure timely completion of testing activities.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Support quality systems, audits, and compliance activities including ISO 17025 requirements.
• Investigate quality control issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and cross-functional support activities.
• Follow all laboratory safety and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline preferred.
• 1–3 years of laboratory testing experience.
• Experience in food testing, quality control, microbiology, chemistry, or related laboratory environments.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience with sample preparation, weighing, pipetting, solution preparation, and data analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Food manufacturing or food testing laboratory experience.
• Experience working under ISO 17025 or similar quality systems.
• Experience with analytical laboratory instrumentation and quality compliance programs.
