Job description

This position is responsible for supervising quality direct labor as well as assist with process improvement and special projects as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervising, scheduling, and developing talent of quality direct labor, OBA (out of box auditor), VI (visual inspector), and IPQC (in process quality control) inspectors.
  • Prepare and summarize daily quality reports and submit to Quality Engineers and management for corrective actions.
  • Report any 6S or safety violations to appropriate groups for corrective actions and identify opportunities for safety improvement.
  • Assist with operator training and work with Human Resources to ensure all proper paperwork is created and documented.
  • Organize and supervise IPQC team to create production line/station checklist for daily audit.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement efforts set by management.
  • Assist the Quality Engineers in purge and CPAT screen process to ensure all non-conforming material is identified, segregated, and disposed of correctly.
  • Assist and back up IPQC Auditors.
  • Provide input and participate in problem solving techniques with Quality Engineers.
  • Train IPQC in understanding 7QC tools for identifying process escapes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Prior lead/supervisory experience in a quality or production department preferred
  • Working knowledge of Quality improvement processes and systems required
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects/requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience required
  • Manufacturing experience required
