Job description

Position Summary:
This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of 3 days per week in either our NY city office or Raleigh NC office.
The American Kennel Club is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst. This role will be heavily focused on the growth, maintenance, and strategy of Google web tracking and data properties (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, BigQuery) to support on-going efforts to provide data, insights, and visualizations to internal stakeholders. In this role you will work closely with stakeholders, BI team members, database administrators, and IT web and software engineers to collect requirements, design tagging solutions, implement tags, validate data, and establish APIs in coordination with a SQL Engineer. Additional key functions include Tableau dashboard design, ad hoc analyses, involvement in user data collection and compliance, and paid marketing conversion analysis.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Own maintenance, growth, and architecture of AKC Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Establish yourself as the company specialist and subject matter expert in web tracking methodology and solutions
  • Drive end-to-end visibility of user web and conversion behavior by developing scalable front-end tagging solutions to AKC web properties, integrating web data with back-end sales tables, and architecting event-level data collection
  • Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance and IT teams to ensure effective testing, tracking, and upkeep of cookie banners and user consent across digital properties. - Provide QA and validation of web data and tags across the user lifecycle, collaborating closely with BI and IT teams
  • Create dashboards and provide ad hoc analyses to internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate, test, and collaborate on the implementation of APIs for BI team use
  • Effectively communicate methods, results, and data conclusions to stakeholders, including senior executives

Required Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements:
  • Strong working knowledge in SQL (required)
  • Experience writing JavaScript for GTM tags (preferred)
  • Prior experience in designing, implementing, or validating Google Tag Manager solutions on web properties
  • Prior experience in validating and analyzing Google Analytics data across multiple platforms (GTM, GA4, BigQuery, SQL)
  • Strong understanding of UTMs and marketing best practices
  • Prior experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred), Looker, Power BI
  • Keen attention to detail and documentation processes
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to design and implement solutions
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) with 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, marketing analytics, business intelligence or related field

The salary range in New York City for this position is $100,000 - $111,000/year; however, salary offered may vary depending on skill, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
