Job description

  • Reports To:
    • Manager, QMS

  • General Description:
    • The QMS Lead Auditor ensures that the Quality System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with any applicable standards (Customer Specific Requirements) or technical specifications such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 and 6.5 (as applicable).

  • Responsibilities:
    • Maintains the written procedures, work instructions and forms of the Quality Management System as assigned.
    • Create an internal audit schedule and perform internal audits per Corporate directive.
    • Presents the systems status report monthly to Corporate.
    • Ensures the written audit reports and updated internal audit schedule is approved by the Manager of QMS.
    • Oversees the issuance of corrective actions and follows up countermeasure implementation.
    • Conduct follow up special audits per Customer specifics requirement updates and submit report to Corporate
    • Advise and assist the upper management with any concerns about the QMS.
    • Evaluates the application of the Standards within the procedures, work instructions and policies.
    • Key participant in all customer and third-party audits at the assigned facility.
    • Key participant in local Management review representing Corporate.
    • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

  • Education:
    • College Degree preferred or in lieu of degree; extensive job specific experience

  • Experience:
    • Five (5) years experience, in lieu of education, in Manufacturing Quality specifically in the administration of Internal Quality Management Systems.

  • Skills
    • Able to operate computer effectively with Windows, spreadsheet, presentation and word processor programs
    • Basic typing skills

  • Training specific to placement in position
    • IATF Lead Auditor Course (passing exam or working toward completion of training or testing). Customer specific training as required.
