Job description

We are seeking a Local Truck Driver - Tractor-Trailer to join our team in Westminster! We are a great company to work for and offer ideal compensation, benefits and have many growth opportunities if you are a driven self starter.

You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck that transports cargo to and from specified destinations
  • Prepare, receive and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo
  • Maintain radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive the delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up
  • Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations
  • May be responsible for vehicle maintenance and presentation
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
  • Inspect tractor-trailer truck before and after trip

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in truck driving or other related fields
  • Commercial driver's license (Class A)
  • Must have a "satisfactory" driving record
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong work ethic
