Job description

Location: New York, United States (Hybrid) - Must be able to work in NYC on a hybrid basis
Hybrid Full-time
Compensation: $150K - $175K
Our client is a well-funded financial technology firm backed by leading institutional venture capital, including Electric Capital and Paradigm. The organization is rebuilding the core infrastructure that underpins the global financial system by merging traditional institutional finance expertise with advanced blockchain technology to create a faster, safer, and fully on-chain ecosystem.
As a Business Analyst, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating the intricate workflows of institutional loan markets into innovative, scalable software products. This position is ideal for a structured, detail-obsessed builder who excels at transforming ambiguous financial processes into highly executable development plans.
This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite in New York City and is not eligible for fully remote work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Architecture: Synthesize complex, ambiguous, and sometimes conflicting inputs from clients and subject matter experts into highly granular, testable functional specifications and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Specification Ownership: Author comprehensive functional design documents tailored to support both engineering execution (development and testing) and long-term, reusable product documentation.
  • Quality Assurance & UAT Leadership: Establish robust testing frameworks, translate product use cases into formal test plans, execute comprehensive feature and integration-level testing, and manage defect triage directly with engineering to ensure product readiness for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Interface Collaboration: Partner with product design teams to develop wireframes and mockups, ensuring engineering teams have exact visual and behavioral guidance for user interfaces.
  • Client Engagement & Support: Participate in institutional client workshops and support calls, effectively communicating in the client's domain language, triaging incoming support requests, and translating field feedback into product iterations.
  • AI-Driven Workflow Optimization: Utilize AI productivity tools to accelerate the generation of specifications, documentation, and test cases, applying sharp editorial judgment to ensure high-quality and trustworthy outputs.

Requirements
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: Approximately 4-5 years of dedicated experience owning product requirements through the full testing lifecycle within technology consulting, management advisory, systems implementation, or an in-house product environment.
  • Technical Skill Set: Proven proficiency in requirements elicitation, validation, gap analysis, requirements traceability, functional specification writing, and UAT planning/defect triage.
  • AI Literacy: Demonstrated fluency leveraging AI tools to optimize documentation and testing workflows, combined with the editorial judgment necessary to refine and validate AI-generated content.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong ownership mindset in fast-paced or ambiguous environments, and a rapid cognitive ramp-up time when learning complex market domains.
  • Client-Facing Capability: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate confidently with sophisticated financial services clients.
  • Preferred Tools: Experience with modern productivity and product management tools such as Linear, Notion, Figma, Slack, GSuite, PowerPoint, and process-mapping software (Miro/Lucidchart/Visio). Experience with traditional enterprise suites (Jira, Confluence, Microsoft) is also highly valued.
  • Target Backgrounds (Preferred): Experience within Big Four advisory firms (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte), Accenture, boutique digital transformation consulting (e.g., Capco, West Monroe, Slalom, Guidehouse, CrossCountry), implementation professional services (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, ERP, Fintech), or internal corporate transformation and loan-operations modernization teams.
  • Domain Knowledge (Bonus): Exposure to institutional loan markets, private credit, broadly syndicated loans, credit operations, loan administration, settlement, or closing processes is advantageous but not strictly required.

Benefits
  • Competitive Compensation: A base salary range of $150,000-$170,000, commensurate with experience, plus an equity stake in a high-growth venture.
  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan.
  • Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
  • Professional Growth: High-impact scope of ownership with direct exposure to an elite leadership team featuring alumni from Bloomberg, Blackstone, KKR, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan.
