Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP of Logistics, the Senior Director, Warehouse and Operations and Planning will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing warehouse automation equipment and systems using AI technologies. The successful candidate must have an extensive background in strategic/tactical logistics and supply chain management including process innovation, benchmarking and key performance measurements, customer coordination, customized logistics solutions, and lead-time and cost reduction strategies.

You are responsible for leading the Finished Goods Distribution and Parts Warehouses in North America. As the Group Leader, you have direct oversight of 6+ million square feet of warehouse space within 13 locations and will partner with numerous third-party logistics companies and executives, and will collaborate with internal stakeholders including EVP of Biz Innovation, SVP of Supply Chain, Head of Finance, SCM and other Logistics functional department heads.

You will oversee operational procedures including analyses and forecasts of customer shipping requirements, and planning and development of logistic programs. In addition, you will support the development of methods and procedures for inventory and distribution management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Implementation of AI-based Automation Warehouse:
  • Design and implement warehouse automation facility for bulk and heavy tems (REF,WM,TV).
  • Select and integrate hardware and software components for the automation system.
  • Evaluate and optimize the performance of the automation system.
  • Plan and manage warehouse automation projects:
  • Manage and lead the internal Logistics Strategy and Planning team
  • Manage and lead the Logistics RFP process and sourcing team
  • Manage a department and major business processes within the distribution cycle.
  • Make business-related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature. Decisions on matters that have a significant impact on business operations, financial results, and customer/vendor relationships.
  • Manage and measure logistics processes including; shipping, warehouse, inventory management, and damaged product claims to identify exceptional or high-cost deviations and make procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines.
  • Manage strategic distribution network planning, and 3PL contracts/coordination, with a continuous focus on process creativity, customer service improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings innovation.
  • Manage continuous improvement planning with the executive SCM management of strategic trading partners to improve scorecard performance and service levels and reduce cost, lead time, and overhead.
  • Champion for the identification, root cause analysis, isolation, and reduction of vendor compliance and service level charge-backs. Manage aggressive SCM and Logistics policies to develop and manage customer scorecard improvement; focus on speed, quality, and OTRQ.
  • Partner with the sales and marketing business teams, and customer resource management, and assist with continuous logistics improvement.
  • Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and performance reviews. Conduct a comparative review of all 3PL activity and cost analysis monthly and reports through senior management.
  • Analyze logistics data, identifying and predicting deviations from the process, and making procedural changes to take advantage of increased opportunities for efficiency or correct inefficiencies within the logistics systems
  • Manage the distribution process from factory to customer delivery, focusing on the following:
  • Space management within the warehouse facility.
  • Outbound shipping and delivery to customer distribution or retail centers.
  • Warehouse information systems management
  • Select, hire and manage the performance of departmental staff.
  • Manage departmental operating budget.
  • Present to external and internal executives
  • Make recommendations for agreements with third party vendors

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 16+ years supply chain experience
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience
  • Advanced Excel, SAP, WMS, ERP
  • Expert knowledge of specific logistics and supply chain operations.
    • Analyze warehouse operation data and create models
    • Develop and apply AI algorithms
    • Perform predictive modeling and optimization
  • Expert supply chain operations of processes from the factory to the customer. Is able to identify and predict unlikely problems within the delivery cycle and has the scope of authority to make changes to processes, and personnel, to meet departmental objectives.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in business, supply chain, or logistics is desirable
  • Supply Chain Certification desirable
  • Experience in a global company
  • Experience in consumer electronics and/or home appliances

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, job assignment, and performance management to departmental staff
  • Management of employees including Directors, Senior Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers

Working Environment

  • This is a full-time position based in the Santa Ana, California office.
  • Due to the nature of business, this role requires the incumbent to be onsite in the office Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and must be able to work regular extended hours in the office and on business trips (often with minimal notice).
  • Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time-sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges, some language barriers, and project management deadlines.
  • Ability to travel without restrictions within the United States and Canada, up to 50% of the time depending on department and business needs. Travel may include overnight travel via car or airplane.

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $267,000 and $329,500. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
