Job description

Lyten is leading an industrial revolution through Lyten 3D Graphene™, a breakthrough supermaterial unlocking a new generation of products - from lithium-sulfur batteries and energy storage systems to concrete admixtures, lightweight composites, and next-generation sensors that are revolutionizing industries. Together, these innovations are making a massive global improvement and driving real-world impact across energy, mobility, construction, and defense.
At Lyten, we believe the most meaningful careers begin with purpose - and with people who want to make a difference. We're not just developing advanced supermaterials - we're about to change the world as we know it, reshaping how energy is stored, how products are built, and how progress is made.
We're entering an exciting growth phase, scaling production across the U.S. and Europe and expanding our team of engineers, scientists, and innovators.
Apply now to join our team and be part of something bigger than yourself - where collaboration, creativity, and purpose come together to build the technologies that will define the next century.
Lyten is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the legal department across a mix of administrative and substantive tasks. This role will handle document management, calendaring, meeting coordination, contract administration support, and general legal department functions, with the specific balance of administrative and paralegal-style work shaped by the candidate's background and experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, correspondence, expense reports, and department invoice processing.
  • Maintain organized filing and records systems for contracts, corporate records, and matter files, including litigation hold distribution/acknowledgment tracking and entity management housekeeping (registered agent filings, annual reports, UCC filings, corporate formation documents) under attorney direction.
  • Support contract administration and execution logistics, including routing agreements for signature, tracking execution status, maintaining the contract repository, coordinating notarization where required, and liaising with outside counsel and vendors on scheduling and invoice submission.
  • Assist with board and subsidiary governance administration, including scheduling, document assembly, and minute-book maintenance under attorney supervision.
  • Support cap table and equity administration in Lyten's stock management platform (e.g., Carta), including processing option/RSU grants, tracking stakeholder records, and supporting investor-related documentation requests under attorney direction.
  • Conduct first-pass review and preliminary redlines of routine contracts (NDAs, standard vendor agreements) under attorney supervision.
  • Assist with due diligence document collection, organization, and preliminary review for M&A and financing transactions.
  • Support trademark and patent portfolio administration, including docketing deadlines, renewal filings, and maintaining the IP docket calendar.
  • Conduct preliminary legal and business research, cite-check, proofread, and format legal documents, memos, and board materials for attorney review; support discovery and subpoena response document collection.
  • Lean into varied administrative and paralegal support needs across the legal department as they arise, given its lean size.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree and 3+ years of administrative or paralegal experience supporting a legal function.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and privileged information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Comfort using AI-assisted tools for drafting, review, and research support in a legal setting.
  • Prior experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced, high-growth company.
  • Paralegal certificate or coursework.
  • Experience supporting corporate governance or board administration.
  • Experience with contract management or e-signature platforms (DocuSign, Ironclad, etc.).
  • Experience with Carta or another cap table/equity management platform.

Special Note
  • U.S. citizenship required. This position requires access to technology and technical data subject to U.S. export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 C.F.R.
