Job description

Join a collaborative and fast-paced procurement team where you'll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly. As an Operational Buyer, you will manage the day-to-day purchasing activities for assigned commodities, ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, at the best value, and in support of customer expectations. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you'll help optimize the supply chain while driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for assigned commodities while tracking supplier performance and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve delays or supply issues.
  • Partner with Engineering, Customer Service, Sales, Inventory, Logistics, and Finance teams to support production and customer demand.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and vendors for purchasing, quality, logistics, and technical matters.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies in collaboration with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system while utilizing reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Request and evaluate supplier quotations for spot buys and indirect purchases to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Communicate supplier delays and potential risks to internal teams while developing effective solutions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and improving supplier performance.
  • Perform additional purchasing and procurement duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Manufacturing or aftermarket parts procurement experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, logistics, and supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
