Is procurement a high stress job?

Purchasing warehouse roles can involve high stress levels due to tight deadlines, inventory management, and supply chain pressures. Success often depends on organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in a Purchasing Warehouse role, and how can they be managed effectively?

Professionals in a Purchasing Warehouse role frequently encounter challenges such as managing inventory accuracy, coordinating with multiple suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. To manage these effectively, it's important to implement robust inventory management systems, maintain clear communication with vendors, and work closely with other departments like logistics and finance. Staying organized and being proactive about potential supply chain disruptions can also help mitigate issues and keep warehouse operations running smoothly.

Our products keep homes lit, schools running, and businesses moving forward across the country. We take pride in a culture where people roll up their sleeves, work together, and keep safety and quality at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
Central Moloney is looking for a detail-oriented Warehouse employee and Forklift Driver to support the accurate receiving, inspection, documentation, storage, packing, and shipment of materials, parts, supplies, and finished products. This role helps keep materials moving through the facility by working closely with purchasing, warehouse, production, quality, and vendor partners.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy and communication matter.
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments of materials, parts, and supplies, verifying quantities and checking for damage or discrepancies.
  • Compare received items to purchase orders, packing slips, and quality requirements to ensure accuracy.
  • Record received materials in the inventory management system, including quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and other required information.
  • Identify and report discrepancies, damages, shortages, or quality concerns to the appropriate department or supplier.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, production, and quality teams to resolve receiving or shipping issues.
  • Properly label, tag, store, and organize received materials in designated warehouse or storage locations.
  • Process orders and coordinate shipping activities to support timely and accurate delivery.
  • Pack and label products for shipment while following shipping requirements and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
  • Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist with inventory management, regular audits, restocking, and physical inventory counts.
  • Support general warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, organizing, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or a similar role preferred.
  • Manufacturing or distribution environment experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to process orders, manage inventory, and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with forklifts or other warehouse equipment is a plus.
  • Background check, drug screen, and physical screening required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
This position requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and other environmental stressors. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, crouching, reaching, grasping, and standing for long shifts.
This role also requires manual dexterity, basic math skills, teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe footwear. Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and report or address hazards appropriately.
Benefits
Central Moloney offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), retirement plan, and more.
  • Company-paid health and dental coverage for employees.
  • Hands-on training and opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career.
  • A team-focused culture built around safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
Safety-Sensitive Position
This position is considered safety-sensitive because impairment by drugs or alcohol may constitute a threat to health or safety, and/or a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.
