About the Utility

Tillamook Peoples Utility District (PUD) is a customer-owned electric distribution utility providing electric service in Tillamook County and parts of Clatsop and Yamhill Counties in Oregon. Currently we serve about 20,000 customers in an area of 1,125 square miles.

PUDs tailor services to meet the needs of those they serve, and Tillamook PUD is no exception. We offer a wide array of programs for residential, commercial and industrial customers. Programs include weatherization, lighting efficiency, heat pump programs and much more.

Tillamook PUD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected by the voters within its service area. The Board sets rates and policies, with the goal of providing the most benefit to our customers.

About the Position

A Cashier/Customer Representative receives and processes payments, provides direction and assistance to customers in resolving billing and service-related issues, assists in balancing and reconciling accounting reports, processes paperwork related to connecting and disconnecting electrical service, calculates and prepares corrections to accounts, prepares correspondence and other documents as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D
  • Education, experience, and/or training equivalent to three years responsible office support.
  • Experience that includes heavy public contact, handling and accounting for a daily volume of cash payments and the use of computerized systems is required.
  • A demonstrated work ethic and team-work skills, professionalism, desire to provide a superior customer care experience, pleasant and efficient telephone and verbal communication style, basic math skills, and business writing abilities are required. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential to this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree
  • Experience in Microsoft Office in a business environment, including Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.
