Position Overview

The Communications Associate (Social Media) reports to the Communications & PR Lead and supports Plug and Play’s global social media presence while assisting with select PR and communications initiatives. This role is primarily focused on social media execution, including short-form video content, and works closely with global teams to ensure consistent and timely content across platforms. This position is ideal for someone early in their communications or marketing career who is organized, execution-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment.

Key Responsibilities Social Media & Content
  • Create, schedule, and publish content across LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook, including short-form and vertical video formats (e.g., Reels).
  • Capture, edit, and publish short-form video content for social media using existing templates and brand guidelines.
  • Plan and coordinate the weekly social media agenda, highlighting events, programming, and key announcements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the weekly content calendar in collaboration with the global marketing team.
  • Create basic social media graphics using established templates.
  • Track and review basic social media performance metrics to help inform content planning and optimization.
Community & Internal Collaboration
  • Engage with the Plug and Play community by liking, replying, resharing, and responding to online comments and mentions.
  • Support internal social media leads across teams by providing coordination and execution support to ensure brand consistency across channels.
  • Work with global teams to schedule and publish content on Plug and Play’s global social channels.
Communications & PR Support
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the communications team on PR and communications initiatives, including announcements, campaign support, and content coordination.
Global & Event Support
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple time zones, with occasional early or off-hours meetings as required.
  • Occasionally support on-site social media and communications coverage at Plug and Play events.
Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, communications, marketing, or a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience creating and publishing social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook.
  • Experience creating short-form or vertical video content for social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Based in Silicon Valley or able to commute to the Silicon Valley office regularly.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using social media management tools such as Sprout Social or HubSpot.
  • Experience with video editing tools such as CapCut, Descript, or similar.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content creation or workflow support.
  • Comfort working with international teams across different regions
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • A social media content portfolio or examples of past work.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule requiring in-office work Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment with exposure to global teams, startups, and corporate partners.
