Job description

Graduate Assistantship

Graduate assistantships are appointments made to students enrolled in master's programs at the SHS Department of Behavioral Science. Appointments are generally made for one or two semesters of the calendar year. Graduate assistant positions include: Graduate Teaching Assistants (TA) and Graduate Research Assistants (RA).

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams record keeping, and other miscellaneous projects.
  • Obtain materials needed for classes including texts and other materials.
  • Prepare presentations for lectures.
  • Hand out assignments and grade papers.
  • Take attendance and record responses.
  • Conducting Experiments.
  • Organizing or Analyzing Data.
  • Collaborating with faculty in preparing publications.
  • Assist with academic research.
  • Assist with the editing and preparation of manuscripts.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Must be enrolled in one of SHS Department of Behavioral Science graduate programs.
  • Must be in good academic standing i.e. have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • General administrative duties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, collaboration, and matrix management skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in SPSS software.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work.

Maximum Salary

USD $19.00/Hr.

Minimum Salary

USD $17.00/Hr.
