Ready to Shape the Future of Learning Environments?
Business Development Manager - Public Education
Are you a strategic closer who thrives on the road and loves the thrill of winning high-stakes public contracts? At The Budd Group, we don't just provide facilities services; we create clean, safe, and inspiring spaces where students succeed.
We are looking for a high-energy Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the K-12 and Higher Education sectors. If you're a "road warrior" with a knack for navigating the complexities of public procurement and a passion for building lasting community partnerships, we want to meet you!
The Mission
Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you will be the face of our mission across a multi-state footprint. Your goal? To help school districts and universities solve their toughest facilities challenges through our premier custodial and maintenance solutions.
What Your Days Will Look Like
  • Strategic Growth: Engage with the "who's who" of education-Superintendents, CFOs, and School Boards-to build trust and open doors.
  • Master of the Road: You love the journey. You'll manage a multi-state territory with a consistent travel schedule (averaging 3-day overnight stays) to meet partners where they are.
  • Procurement Pro: You'll dive deep into the world of RFPs, public bids, and cooperative purchasing (think Sourcewell and Omnia) to secure major wins.
  • Conference Champion: Represent us at major trade shows (ASBO, PASBO, AASA), turning quick booth chats into long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborative Design: Work hand-in-hand with our Operations team to craft service solutions that are both high-impact for schools and profitable for the business.

Who You Are
  • An Experienced Navigator: You have 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within the public sector or government contracting.
  • Public Sector Savvy: You understand the unique rhythm of tax-based budgeting and the political nuances of school board approvals.
  • Administratively Sharp: You're a Salesforce pro who understands that a winning bid is built on meticulous data and disciplined follow-up.
  • A Confident Communicator: Whether it's a one-on-one coffee or a formal presentation to a public committee, you command the room with ease.
  • Ready to Roll: You have a valid driver's license, can pass school-mandated background checks, and are prepared for the physical demands of travel and event setup.

Apply today and let's build something great together!
