North Regional Manager - Rudisill Regional Library
Tulsa City-County Library (TCCL), a trusted community partner since 1961, is seeking an innovative, community-minded library leader to serve as the North Regional Library Manager.
In this role, the North Regional Library Manager will lead a brand-new regional library in Tulsa's Historic Greenwood District, a vibrant community rich in history, resilience, entrepreneurship, and culture. Opening in Fall 2026, Rudisill Regional Library is a 33,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art library designed to serve as a destination for learning, creativity, and community connection. Located in Tulsa's Historic Greenwood District, the library features the BOK Harmony Hall Event Center, multiple meeting rooms, two outdoor patios, a makerspace, an expansive children's area, a gift shop, and welcoming spaces for library customers. This space is also home to the African American Resource Center and a satellite location of TCCL's renowned Genealogy Center, making it a unique cultural, educational, and research destination within Tulsa.
As the North Regional Library Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the vision, culture, and long-term success of one of Oklahoma's most significant new public library facilities, while also leading a talented team of managers at the Suburban Acres Library, Collinsville Library, Kendall Whittier Library, Skiatook Library, and the Judy Z. Kishner Library.
The Manager of Rudisill Regional Library provides strategic leadership for all aspects of branch operations, including customer experience, community engagement, programming, collections, facilities, hospitality and venue operations, budgeting, and staff development. This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence while fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment that reflects the library's mission and the needs of Tulsa County.
The successful candidate will inspire a high-performing team, cultivate meaningful partnerships, and develop innovative programs and services that respond to the evolving needs of the community. This leader will champion collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service while ensuring Rudisill Regional Library remains a welcoming destination that will inspire curiosity in all ages and facilitate endless possibilities for library users.
Qualified individuals must possess an MLIS and ten or more years of proven progressive leadership experience within a public library system. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead effectively through change. A strong understanding of the following is essential:

  • Ten or more years progressive management experience in a large library system.
Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable in current policies and practices as well as future trends, technology, and information in the library profession;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and market creative and effective public library programs, events, collections, and services;
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of public library collection development, maintenance, marketing, and display;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, staff, the community, and members of the public;
  • Displays good judgment in analyzing and promoting ideas to benefit the customer base and communities served;
  • Proven ability to remain flexible and engaged during peak periods of organizational transformation:
  • Ability to effectively present information in a variety of settings;
  • Proven success in managing change through both short- and long-range planning;
  • Strong understanding and support of organizational culture;
  • Solid understanding of budget and an overall business mindset;
  • Ability to think strategically and make good decisions under pressure;

Salary: $6,650.00 - $9,750.00 per month. Compensation commensurate with experience
A full benefit package (medical, dental, retirement, paid time off) is offered with this position, including relocation assistance.
Status: Exempt - Full Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm; some weekends and evenings as needed;

Work occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional light lifting, such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
There are no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
Routine in-town travel with occasional out-of-town trips.
