Job Goal
Provides support for library services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  1. Provides basic library services to students, staff, faculty, and members of the public, in-person or remotely, includes assisting with some audiovisual (AV) and computer equipment.
  2. Provides circulation services to library users including routine shelf reading.
  3. Assists with processing of library materials.
  4. Assists with library displays and programs.
  5. Assists with maintaining a current inventory of library AV equipment and supplies.
  6. Assists with training and oversight of student worker assignments.
  7. West Campus only: coordinates exhibits in the Rao Musunuru M.D. Art Gallery
  8. May assist with setting up and using audiovisual equipment in the classroom and public presentations.
  9. May be required to work a flexible schedule, potentially including evening and/or weekend hours.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Standard High School diploma or GED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Ability to provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and members of the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and members of the public. Ability to learn and utilize computer equipment, software, and new technologies in performance of day-to-day work.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, computers, and online searching.
  • Experience with general AV equipment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and problem-solve effectively.
