Position Announcement
The Library at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time paraprofessional position to support the Open Educational Resources (OER) Program components funded by a Department of Education Title III Grant. The OER Paraprofessional position will report to the OER Librarian and assist in a variety of tasks coordinating and assisting faculty in converting courses to OER materials. This is a two-year grant funded position ending on September 30, 2028. Additional information about the area is online at
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of OER course conversions.
  • Work with the OER librarian in assisting faculty in identified departments with locating and adapting OER and other free material into their curriculum and assisting in project management of the course adaptation workflows.
  • Assist in coordinating digital content and services in relation to the OER initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating schedules and timelines for any additional course design assistance.
  • Assist in report writing for OER related progress on the grant.
  • Coordinate and assist in OER project assessments.
  • Complete and submit appropriate paperwork for stipend payments or other expenses. Provide support in tracking yearly grant budgets.
  • Organize and contribute to the digital storytelling of the impact OER has had on students and faculty.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree; a combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with library colleagues and faculty.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong technology and computer skills plus the ability and desire to learn new software and web programs.

Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time overtime-exempt executive staff position. Annual salary of $40,000-$44,500 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of July/August 2026.
