Mercy Flights is hiring for a Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Informatics & Data Analyst

This role serves as a critical bridge between clinical teams, MIH leadership, and the Informatics & Data Analytics department, ensuring our Mobile Integrated Healthcare programs are driven by accurate, meaningful, and impactful data.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Public Health, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience in:
    • Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH)
    • Community Paramedicine
    • Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
    • Population Health programs
  • Familiarity with:
    • ePCR platforms (ESO, ImageTrend, or similar)
    • Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
    • Clinical workflows and healthcare documentation
    • Vendor relationship management for healthcare information systems

Preferred

  • 2+ years of healthcare analytics, informatics, or related experience.
  • Experience with:
    • SQL
    • Power BI and/or Tableau
    • Advanced Excel
    • Data visualization best practices
  • Knowledge of:
    • HL7, ICD-10, CPT, and healthcare data standards
    • Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA quality improvement methodologies
  • Experience with statistical or programming tools such as Python, R, or SAS.

Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in healthcare analytics, informatics, or similar roles. Proficiency in SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Excel, and data visualization best practices. Understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, ICD-10, CPT, etc.). Background in quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA cycles). Experience with statistical tools (R, Python, SAS) is a plus.

What You'll Do

Data Management & Analytics

  • Collect, validate, transform, and analyze data from multiple healthcare and operational systems, including ePCR, EHR, CAD, scheduling, and population health platforms.
  • Identify trends in patient utilization, clinical outcomes, referral patterns, and program effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting tools for leadership and clinical teams.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all MIH-related systems.

Informatics & Systems Optimization

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and super-user for MIH software applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize system performance and workflows.
  • Translate clinical needs into technical requirements for documentation templates, workflows, and decision-support tools.
  • Support implementation, testing, training, and adoption of new technology solutions.

Quality Improvement & Program Evaluation

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluation frameworks for MIH initiatives, including:
    • Readmission reduction programs
    • High-utilizer interventions
    • Chronic disease management
    • Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) engagement
  • Support quality improvement projects using data-driven methodologies.
  • Assist with grant reporting, accreditation requirements, compliance initiatives, and community health assessments.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with MIH leadership, clinicians, quality teams, medical directors, and community stakeholders.
  • Present complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Act as the primary analytics liaison between MIH operations and the Informatics & Data Analytics team.

Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and organizational standards for data privacy and security.
  • Document data sources, reporting methodologies, and operational procedures.
