PTF employees have flexible schedules and may work varying hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the postal facility. Unlike full-time employees, PTFs do not have a fixed schedule but may receive benefits such as health insurance and paid leave, depending on their collective bargaining agreement. These positions are often seen as entry-level roles that can lead to full-time careers within the USPS.

To thrive as a Physical Therapy Faculty (PTF), you need an advanced degree in physical therapy (typically a DPT or PhD), strong clinical expertise, and a proven record in teaching or research. Familiarity with educational technology, electronic learning platforms, and accreditation standards is often required. Exceptional communication, mentorship, and organizational skills help in engaging students and collaborating with colleagues. These skills ensure effective instruction, foster student success, and support the advancement of the physical therapy profession.
