Licensed Psychologist – Correctional Mental Health

$180,952–$190,000 | 4-Day Workweek Option | Relocation Assistance

Location: Appleton, Minnesota 56208

Schedule: 5 x 8-hour schedule with flexibility; a 4 x 10-hour schedule can be accommodated for the right candidate

Work Setting: On-site, secure institutional setting

Annual Salary Range: $180,952–$190,000

Avento Health is recruiting a Licensed Psychologist for an on-site behavioral health opportunity in Appleton, Minnesota. This position provides psychological assessment, treatment, counseling, and crisis support to individuals receiving care in a secure institutional environment.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct psychological screenings and assessments using clinical interviews and available records.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs and level of functioning.
  • Provide counseling, psychological interventions, crisis assessment, and confrontation-avoidance support.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, mental health clinicians, social workers, and other professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Conduct clinical rounds and assess patients for changes in adjustment, behavior, and mental health needs.
  • Apply established psychological counseling theories and treatment techniques to an assigned caseload.
  • Provide timely clinical guidance when needed during after-hours incidents or emergencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Minnesota.
  • At least two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site in a secure correctional or detention environment.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience providing behavioral health services in a correctional or detention setting is preferred.

Schedule & Benefits

The standard schedule is 5 x 8-hour shifts with flexibility, and a 4 x 10-hour schedule can be accommodated for the right candidate. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, and paid time off. Relocation assistance is available. Travel is not required.
