About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Manager, US Tax Compliance & Reporting to lead Nscale’s US federal tax compliance and US GAAP tax reporting processes.

Reporting to the Senior Director – Tax Compliance and Reporting within the Finance / Tax organization, this role is central to the integrity of our tax accounting and compliance work. You’ll operate across US GAAP and IFRS reporting environments and partner closely with the global tax team, external US tax advisors, and key finance stakeholders to ensure accurate, technically robust outcomes.

This is a high‑impact role for someone who brings deep ASC 740 expertise and strong federal corporate tax knowledge. Your work will help ensure the accuracy of our provisions, returns, and technical analyses, while strengthening the connection between tax reporting, financial statements, and compliance positions as Nscale continues to scale.

What you’ll be doing

Tax Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the quarterly and annual tax provisioning processes under US GAAP (ASC 740).
  • Prepare and review group and statutory tax provisions.
  • Manage effective tax rate analysis, deferred tax calculations, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Perform purchase price accounting calculations, including deferred tax impacts.
  • Oversee intraperiod tax allocation and the preparation of tax basis balance sheets.
  • Own the preparation and review of US federal corporate income tax returns.
  • Ensure alignment between tax return positions and provision outputs.
  • Manage external advisors on federal compliance matters and review deliverables for technical accuracy.
  • Support federal tax audits and inquiries.

International & Technical Tax Matters

  • Perform and oversee PFIC analysis and reporting.
  • Manage Earnings & Profits (E&P) calculations.
  • Support modelling of complex cross‑border tax positions impacting provision and compliance.
  • Partner with the global tax team to ensure accurate reflection of intercompany transactions in provision and compliance.
  • Track and analyse federal and international legislative developments affecting tax positions and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain tax reporting timelines and strengthen provisioning processes and controls.
  • Leverage tax technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Drive efficiency and cost control in the coordination of data and deliverables with external advisors.
  • Lead complex technical tax accounting matters arising from transactions and reporting requirements, including business combinations, asset acquisitions, and simultaneous equation methodologies.
About You
  • 8+ years of experience with a strong emphasis on tax provision (ASC 740) and US federal tax compliance.
  • CPA or equivalent U.S. professional qualification required.
  • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting and experience preparing group and statutory tax provisions.
  • Hands‑on experience in transaction‑based tax accounting, including business combinations, asset acquisitions, and purchase price accounting.
  • Strong capability in assessing deferred tax consequences and reflecting them accurately in the tax provision.
  • Experience with valuation allowance analysis, uncertain tax positions, deferred tax asset assessment, intraperiod tax allocation, and tax basis balance sheets.
  • Experience with PFIC and E&P calculations; Subpart F income calculations are a plus.
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with strong capability using tax provisioning software and related tax technology tools.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Highly adaptable, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Salary Range
