Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Assisted Living Director is responsible for the leadership of the Health Services operations at the Assisted Living Facility (ALF), assuring delivery of quality programs and services to the residents in a safe and secure environment, maintaining positive relationships with residents, family members, staff, volunteers, churches and the local community, and for providing continuity of care and the consistent application of policies and procedures.
This position is accountable to the Executive Director/Assistant Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  2. Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  3. Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
  4. Responsible for the general leadership of the Health Services of the ALF community, assuring empowerment of staff to be creative, to offer input into the decision-making process and to develop as accountable members of the campus team.
  5. Performs social service functions with advanced medical directives; guardianships; provision of social and emotional support.
  6. Develops and oversees, in conjunction with other staff, the organizational annual goals and objectives and assures implementation as scheduled.
  7. Responsible for the provision of quality services for the residents, and for ensuring prompt resolution of concerns that result in resident satisfaction.
  8. Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with residents and family members/personal representatives. Participates, where applicable, in resident/family council meetings.
  9. Responsible for maintaining a staffing plan to ensure the effective delivery of quality services. This would include responsibility for making all hiring decisions and for the mentoring, and corrective action decisions for all ALF clinical staff which report directly to this position.
  10. Ensures positive team relations among staff and buildings, streamlining of programs and services, as appropriate.
  11. Responsible for assisting in the development and monitoring the operational and capital budgets for the ALF.
  12. Responsible for ensuring that all corporate policies and procedures are administered effectively and handled in a fair manner, and for the development of new policies and revision of outdated policies pertaining directly to the ALF.
  13. Responsible for compliance with regulatory agencies. This includes adequate training and mentorship for all ALF staff, and continued survey preparedness in each program.
  14. Participates in strategic planning for the campus.
  15. Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience within an Assisted Living or Long Term Care retirement setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years' leadership experience in a similar setting.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) preferred or willing to obtain
