NIKA is hiring for an Operations Manager to provide support services to the U.S. Health and Human Services Department at the Hubert H. Humphrey (HHH) building in Washington D.C.! This is an upcoming opportunity pending contract award in spring of 2025!

Our operations management, engineering, and project management services provide our customers with the value and expertise to ensure operational readiness for complex and mission-critical facilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage, plan, prioritize, organize, control, report, evaluate, and adjust facilities maintenance operations to ensure conformance with the Contract and NIKA Policies/Procedures.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day direct supervision and development of personnel, facilities, materials, finances, subcontractor's, etc.
  • Assist with the day-to-day implementation of the open-work order activities, strategically planning & managing to ensure conformance with established contract requirements.
  • Actively monitor and ensure employee conformance with established Quality Assurance Program elements. Assist with immediate correction when non-conformant work quality is observed or reported.
  • Coordinate workforce management & contract compliance efforts with other Managers, as appropriate.
  • Interface with, monitor and control select subcontractors.
  • Prepare required reports and analyses as required, ensuring required documentation is maintained and submitted as contractually required.
  • Assist with ordering parts, materials & tools; ensuring accuracy, cost saving efforts and expeditious delivery.

Required Skills
  • Minimum seven (7) years' experience in building maintenance operations in Federal owned facilities and possess a DC First class operator's license.
  • Shall be experienced certified and licensed in the maintenance of complex industrial facilities and in the operation of utility systems of the type used at the HHH Building.
  • Demonstrated experience writing scopes of work and preparing basic cost estimates.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Experience in different size & complexity of project types
  • Familiar with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain an access card to the site.
