Job description

Mosquito Squad of Greater DC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead field operations across multiple branches and help us continue delivering exceptional service to thousands of customers throughout Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia.

This is not a desk job.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can develop branch managers, build high-performing teams, maintain operational excellence, and create accountability systems that drive customer retention, technician performance, safety, and profitability.

What You'll Do

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our field service teams and branch locations, ensuring that services are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop Branch Managers, Lead Technicians, and field teams
  • Drive accountability through performance metrics, coaching, and regular team meetings
  • Oversee fleet, equipment, inventory, and facility management
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT, and state pesticide regulations
  • Improve production efficiency, route performance, and service quality
  • Manage technician recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention
  • Conduct branch audits, ride-alongs, and quality control inspections
  • Monitor operational KPIs, budgets, labor efficiency, and profitability
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and support customer retention efforts
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Leadership teams to support company growth

QualificationsRequired

  • 5+ years of operations leadership experience
  • Experience managing field service, home service, logistics, construction, landscaping, pest control, or route-based operations
  • Proven success leading teams and developing managers
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across locations
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred

  • Pest control industry experience
  • Qualified to test for Certified Applicator or has CA
  • Multi-location management experience
  • Maryland, Virginia, or DC pesticide certifications
  • OSHA or safety program experience
  • Experience with CRM, routing, or workforce management software
