JOB SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily business operations of a trucking and drayage facility to ensure efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role manages operational processes, leads teams, monitors performance metrics, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to support organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day operational activities across departments.
  • Develop, implement, and improve operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare operational reports.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic operational plans.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of operations management or leadership experience. Trucking experience required.  Drayage experience strongly desired.  
  • Strong knowledge of operational processes and business management principles.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
