Production Operations Manager

Ault, Colorado | Full-Time | On-Site


Metal Solutions, Inc. (MSI) is seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to lead our structural steel fabrication operations and direct performance across production, safety, quality, and workforce development.
The Production Operations Manager owns the production schedule, guides shop leadership, and is responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead fabrication, assembly, shipping, receiving, and yard operations.
  • Build and manage production schedules and capacity plans.
  • Coordinate manpower, balance workloads, materials, equipment, and priorities.
  • Direct safety, quality, production and scheduling activities.
  • Develop supervisors and strengthen leadership throughout the shop.
  • Partner with Projects, Sales, Purchasing, Design, and Quality teams to ensure successful project execution.

  • Production commitments are consistently met.
  • Safety and quality standards continuously improve.
  • Bottlenecks, delays, and rework are reduced.
  • Communication between departments is proactive and effective.
  • Throughput, labor efficiency, and schedule reliability improve over time.

Required Qualifications

  • Leadership experience IN manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial operations.
  • Experience managing supervisors, foremen, and production teams.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and scheduling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Structural steel or metal fabrication managerial experience.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and QA/QC processes.
