Job description

Senior Construction Manager / Owner’s Representative

PROVEN is looking for a hands-on Senior Construction Manager / Owner’s Representative who can own the full project, not just one piece of it.

This role is for someone who is comfortable in the field, confident with contractors, organized with details, and able to protect the owner’s interests from planning through closeout. You will manage vendors, track budgets and schedules, review drawings and change orders, solve problems in real time, and keep projects moving.

This is not a desk-only role. We need someone who can walk a site, understand what is happening, ask smart questions, push for answers, and take accountability for results.

What You Will Do

  • Represent the owner throughout planning, construction, transition, and closeout
  • Manage contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Track scope, budget, schedule, risks, issues, and decisions
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoices, and project documents
  • Support procurement, bid reviews, contractor selection, and contract compliance
  • Coordinate building systems, outages, commissioning, FF&E, and operational readiness
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to leadership
  • Identify problems early and drive practical solutions
  • Maintain organized project documentation and closeout records

Who We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in construction management, owner’s representation, facilities, capital projects, or related work
  • Experience managing projects in occupied or active environments
  • Strong understanding of construction, building systems, schedules, budgets, and field coordination
  • Comfortable challenging contractors and vendors when needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain issues clearly
  • Organized, proactive, and accountable
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, facilities, architecture, or related field preferred
  • PMP required, or willingness to obtain within 6–12 months

Tools & Skills

  • Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Procore, Smartsheet, Fieldwire, or similar platforms preferred
  • Comfort using modern digital tools, including AI, to improve documentation and workflow is a plus

Work Style

You should be someone who:

  • Takes ownership without needing constant direction
  • Likes being close to the work and in the field
  • Stays calm under pressure
  • Communicates clearly and directly
  • Follows through
  • Cares about protecting the owner’s budget, schedule, and reputation

This is a great role for a strong, rising construction professional who wants more responsibility, more client exposure, and the chance to lead full projects from start to finish.
