Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to oversee the overall performance and day-to-day operations of our Chatsworth facility. The ideal candidate will have proven management experience within a calibration, metrology, technical, or similar environment, with strong operational and business leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for branch performance, personnel, customer relationships, staffing, budgets, resources, and business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the ability to work across departments and communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and senior management.


Responsibilities:

Branch Operations & Performance

  • Oversee overall branch operations, Profit and Loss, operations, KPIs and Metrics such as workload, productivity, capacity, turnaround, staffing, and resources while ensuring quality and customer expectations are met.
  • Analyze performance, identify operational challenges, and implement improvements to efficiency, service, and profitability.

Leadership & Personnel

  • Lead, develop, and hold branch personnel accountable while supporting staffing, performance management, training, and employee development.
  • Promote a professional, safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment across departments.

Customer & Business Development

  • Build and maintain customer relationships, resolve service escalations, and ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Partner with sales and customer service to support new business, account growth, and expansion of calibration services.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, staffing, equipment, inventory, and resource planning.
  • Work with senior management to establish branch goals and support long-term business growth.

Quality, Facility & Compliance

  • Ensure branch operations support ISO/IEC 17025, A2LA, NIST traceability, ANSI/NCSL, and MQC quality requirements and support audits and corrective actions.
  • Oversee facility, safety, equipment, environmental, and maintenance needs while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.


Requirements and Skills:

  • Must have professional calibration/metrology industry experience.
  • Proven management experience leading branch, technical, laboratory, or operations teams.
  • Maintain technical guidance, supporting A2LA and customer audits
  • Strong understanding of calibration/metrology operations, instrumentation, quality systems, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Experience with A2LA, NIST traceability, ANSI/NCSL, audits, or similar quality standards preferred.
  • Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD calibration experience preferred.
  • Proven business, leadership, customer-service, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing KPIs, budgets, staffing, purchasing, and operational resources preferred.
  • Experience with calibration management software, ERP/LIMS, and Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, customer satisfaction, and turnaround requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for potential onsite customer visits.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
