Job description

Under the direction of the simulation coordinator/Director, the Simulation Operations Specialist will provide technical and mechanical support for the simulation center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

  • Collaborates with supervisor to organize, maintain and restock simulation laboratory supplies to include simulated medications, IVFs, personal protective equipment, and simulation accessories.
  • Provides technical support for task trainers and multimedia peripherals including:
    • Beds/examination tables, headwalls, patient monitors, wearables, and other health care equipment, vital sign monitors.
  • Sets up and takes down simulation laboratory equipment.
  • Sets up and maintains procedural simulators and all the accessories and props.
  • Sets up and maintains computer-based training programs (VR, XR, and mixed reality).
  • Provides theatrical production (costuming and moulage) for simulation scenarios as requested.
  • Programs simulator software to model simulator's physiological response to instructor specifications.
  • Operates patient simulators and cameras for the duration of simulations.
  • Operates and maintains audio-visual and debriefing systems.
  • Maintains simulation activities and student-learner confidentiality.
  • Maintains current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment operation manuals.
  • Maintains and assists with repairs of all simulation equipment
  • Provides technical assistance and support to faculty and instructors in the use of simulation equipment.
  • Demonstrates compliance with code of conduct and University policies and procedures.
  • Performs other simulation job-related duties as needed.

Pay Range: $24 - 25/hr
