About the Opportunity

A full-service hotel and conference center in Ontario, California, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join its team during an exciting property transformation and rebranding. The hotel features approximately 295 guest rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, and more than 24,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager will generate new business, strengthen existing client relationships, and help increase hotel revenue across guest rooms, meetings, conferences, and events. This position will also oversee a Sales Coordinator and work closely with revenue management, catering, operations, and hotel leadership.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, relationship-driven sales professional with experience in hotel sales and a strong understanding of the Southern California market.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow group, corporate, association, government, and other assigned market segments
  • Prospect for new business through outbound calls, networking, referrals, industry events, site tours, and local market outreach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, meeting planners, travel partners, and community organizations
  • Manage assigned accounts from initial prospecting through contracting and transition to hotel operations
  • Conduct property tours and present the hotel’s guest rooms, meeting space, food and beverage options, and overall capabilities
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, presentations, and follow-up communications for prospective clients
  • Negotiate rates and agreements while protecting profitability and supporting the hotel’s revenue goals
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and accurate account activity, production, and forecasting records
  • Partner with the Director of Sales and Marketing to establish sales goals, account strategies, and market priorities
  • Oversee, coach, and support the Sales Coordinator in daily administrative and client-service responsibilities
  • Collaborate with revenue management to evaluate pricing, availability, need dates, and business opportunities
  • Work closely with catering, banquets, front office, and other operational departments to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, community functions, and industry meetings
  • Monitor local market activity, competitors, and emerging business opportunities
  • Participate in sales meetings, revenue meetings, property events, and rebranding initiatives


Qualifications

  • Previous hotel sales experience required
  • Experience selling guest rooms, group business, meetings, conferences, or events strongly preferred
  • Established relationships within the Ontario, Inland Empire, or greater Southern California market are a plus
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, developing accounts, negotiating agreements, and achieving revenue goals
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring a sales coordinator or support professional preferred
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities
  • Comfortable using hotel sales, CRM, and property-management systems
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on client and hotel business needs
