Proposal EngineerIntroduction:

This role involves providing bid support to the sales team in the development of proposals. The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for various tasks such as tower selections, specification and contract review, material and labor estimates, and proposal preparation. They will work closely with different departments to ensure accurate cost estimates, project strategies, and competitive pricing.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, coordinate, and support all assigned budget and firm proposals requiring a company response.
  • Develop and implement proposal strategies with management and Business Development Managers.
  • Coordinate with internal and external contacts to estimate labor, material, and freight costs.
  • Set bid prices using established guidelines and management review.
  • Consult with team members in reviewing customer technical and commercial specifications.
  • Develop scopes to highlight company strengths and meet customer expectations.
  • Attend customer meetings and pre-bid job walks to gather necessary information for bids.
  • Maintain accuracy of Quote Database and assist in Sales Forecasting and Budgeting.
  • Assist in the smooth transition from proposal management to project management phases of a contract.
  • Prepare inspection reports with construction and management support for recommended repairs.
  • Prepare thermal selections and performance predictions of cooling towers using specific software.

  • Zero to five years of experience in Proposal Management, Project Management, or Application Sales.
Optional but Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor''s degree from an ABET/EAC program or recognized equivalent.
  • Direct application sales experience in Capital/Engineered Products.
  • Experience in contract and commercial terms.
  • Direct experience in the cooling tower industry.
