Who You Are
As our new Proposals Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the quoting process on large customer projects, including developing proposals for a variety of robot applications and ensuring that the provided solutions are specific to each customer's needs. You will gather the customers' technical and commercial requirements and lead cross-functional groups to develop the strategy, cost basis, pricing, and written proposal for each assigned RFQ. In addition, you need to ensure that each proposal provides solutions to customers' specific needs for general assembly and body shop robot applications, while exceeding customer expectations and driving overall project profitability.

How It's Done
  • Develop and manage the proposal development schedule
  • Coordinate and conduct engineering and proposal strategy meetings with Sales, Segments and Engineering
  • Develop cost grids that estimate material and labor costs
  • Develop and manage proposal documentation
  • Review and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings
  • Manage revisions, change requests and clarifications as required
  • Initiate strategies that lead to cost reduction and process improvements
  • Solicit quotes from FANUC America vendors
  • Facilitate project team kickoff meetings and effectively communicate quoted deliverables
  • Continually focus on cost down solutions and products working with Engineering and Project Management

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with suppliers (i.e. confirming lead times, cost analysis, etc.)
  • Passionate about Robotics industry

What Would Be Even Better
  • 3+ years of experience in automation engineering with a basic knowledge of robotic applications including robot interface, programming, and process equipment integration and operation
  • Exposure to the FANUC product line
  • Prior experience in customer proposal development, customer specification review, and project grid creation
