Senior Accountant - Full-time
Location: North Salt Lake, UT
Required Qualifications:
  • Five-plus years of accounting experience with escalating responsibilities
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA, CIA
  • Proficient with accounting-related software for mid to large corporations
  • Experience with Power BI or other data analytic tools
  • Travel: Ability to travel 10-25%
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Understanding ERP systems and how your stewardship activities affect other areas and processes within the organization and ERP.
  • Ability to understand operations' systems including manufacturing batching systems, warehouse management systems, poultry flock management systems, and their interfaces with the ERP.
Job Description
Actively oversee and participate in the accounts payable processes. Including but not limited to:
  • Accuracy of payable and vendor data
  • Weekly payment projections,
  • Oversee AP team and invoice management process,
  • Weekly payment run,
  • Monitoring and reconciling GRNI liabilities (goods received not invoiced),
  • Prepaids and other liabilities,
  • W-9 verification and 1099 process.
  • Compliance activities (sales and use/property tax, levy, etc.), including timely filings and coordinating responses to external requests from compliance entities.
  • Follows and helps ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS) and company developed policies and procedures.
  • Supports month-end close and is responsible for the preparation/review of various account reconciliations.
  • Developing accrual methodologies and performing and reviewing accruals.
  • Responsible for coaching, developing, mentoring, and guiding direct reports through regular one-on-ones and other touchpoints.
  • Provides daily financial reporting of production and expense metrics as requested by the Regional Controller.
  • Assists in performing operational analysis, trends, projections, and forecasting vs. month-budgeted KPI's.
  • Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration including technological advances.
  • Assists in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and estimates. Compare actuals to projected results and prior year actuals.
  • Supports providing accurate information for audits and filings.
