Job description

As a Property Operations Intern, you will assist with the day-to-day operations and management of residential communities. This role offers hands-on experience in property management and real estate operations, providing valuable exposure to various aspects of resident relations, leasing, and financial management and property maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Relations:
    • Assist in managing resident communications, including inquiries and requests.
    • Help process resident applications, lease renewals, and lease agreements.
    • Provide customer service and resolve issues promptly.
  • Leasing and Marketing:
    • Assist with marketing vacant units and preparing marketing materials.
    • Help schedule and coordinate property showings for prospective residents.
    • Conduct market research to understand local rental rates and trends.
  • Financial Support:
    • Assist in preparing and processing invoices, rent collections, and financial reports.
    • Help maintain resident billing records and assist with rent reconciliation.
    • Assist with budgeting and tracking operational expenses.
  • Assist with Property Maintenance:
    • Support the scheduling of routine maintenance and repairs.
    • Help track maintenance requests and follow up with team members, vendors or contractors.
    • Maintain property upkeep by ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Regional Asset Support:
    • Collect, analyze and interpret data related to multiple properties within the geographic region to gain insight into market trends, property performance, resident behavior and other factors.
    • Participate in investor-related meetings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Property Management, or related field.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Basic understanding of property management processes is a plus.
  • Personal Characteristics:
    • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Enthusiastic about learning and developing in the real estate industry.
