This position is located onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Job Overview
The Property Specialist Level I will perform a variety of supply chain property inventory duties. These duties utilize an understanding of storage planning, coordinating, and inventorying property that has been received, shipped, excessed, moved or transferred. The Property Specialist Level I will coordinate the material handling processes for shipping, receiving, storage and disposition of property in accordance with government regulations. Activities will involve performing verification, data entering and inventorying assignments. The Property Specialist Level I reports to the Property Specialist Level II Team.
Pay Rate: $39.21/ hour
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Account for property received, shipped, excessed, moved or transferred using the Asset Management (AM) system.
  • Maintain the Asset Management (AM) system of record in FACTS by performing data entry for incoming property, transferred property, lost or destroyed property and excessed property.
  • Reconcile physical asset attributes against the Asset Management (AM) system of record and update asset records as directed.
  • Assist in the development of Property Specialist Level II processes for shipping, receiving, storage and disposition of property.
  • Assist in providing inventory reports in accordance with Government guidelines.
  • Perform scanning and reconciliation tasks for annual and semi-annual inventories as directed.
  • Assist in the collection and review of inventory documents such as reports of lost property and manually inventoried property as directed for annual and semi-annual inventories.
  • Input data into the Material Distribution and Tracking (MDAT) System.
  • Review and approve requests for property moved, shipped, stored, transferred, excessed, tagged, or other property administrative functions in the MDAT System, ensuring the data is entered in accordance with government Property Specialist Level II procedures.
  • Coordinate and perform all Property Accountability functions and Property Specialist Level II functions.
  • Process documents and record updates as needed for the disposal of excess material or equipment, installed property, cannibalized property, and deleted or recovered property records.
  • Inventory and organize materials, supplies, or equipment using data collection methods in accordance with legal and accountability requirements established by the FAR and USG.
  • Organizes and obtains inventory of stored material to identify discrepancies, etc. as directed.
  • Removes materials from storage and verifies work documents as required.
  • Performs periodic stock inventories as directed.
  • Comprehends and completes property documents and follows instructions to deliver and/or pick-up material at various locations.
  • Palletizes, stacks, and otherwise places and arranges items in consideration of their size, shape, weight, quantity, type, barcode/tag number, stock number, letter and number codes, and other storage factors.
  • Understands and follows procedures for removing property from storage for shipment or issue in consideration to quantities, units of issue, and types of items shown on issue requests.
  • Comprehends, signs, and obeys a statement of understanding regarding the use of Government Property.
  • Performs other duties such as (but not limited to) file, maintenance, workspace cleanup and maintain warehouse space as required.
  • Supports other department staff and or other trade groups as needed or directed.
  • Supports after hour's relocation or inventory requirements for our customer as required.
  • Identifies and maintains knowledge of the various locations of loading docks throughout the areas of operation.
  • Reports suspicious activity and items to the appropriate communications center via the most appropriate means.
  • With minimal supervision, completes work, meets priorities, and achieved results based on the organizations goals and objectives.
  • Comprehends signs and obeys a statement of understanding in regards to the operation of Government or CIS owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in the field of logistics, supply and/or Property
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification to operate all types of MHE within 60 days.
  • Possess the required clearance; or
  • Has the ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • Familiarity with record filling and property inventory/management
  • Familiarity with basic mathematical functions is required.
  • Ability to load and unload trucks, manually stacking, palletizing, arranging, and rotating items according to height, width, and weight instructions.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Mature judgment and ability to perform assigned work tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred:
  • Possess current forklift certification
  • Experience working with an Asset Management (AM) System

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or team lift of 75 pounds.
