Job description

Federated Co-ops Inc. is looking to hire a Propane Location Manager to work out of our Osceola Propane Plant. As the Propane Location Manager, you will be responsible for managing plant(s) in which propane gas is stored and distributed.  Follow all policies regarding storage, distribution, and plant operations in a manner that will optimize Federated LP gas market share and earnings, improve operational efficiency and result in outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Propane Location Manager include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Manages all day-to-day functions for service and delivery of Federated within trade geography, including product delivery, maintenance and service.
  • Responsible for recommending location(s) staffing needs along with staff performance reviews and discipline issues.
  • Ensuring that all employees are properly trained and are safely performing their functions in accordance with company policy and all applicable codes.
  • Responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance, safety and upkeep.
  • Responsible for plant profitability, growth and sales.
  • Oversee monthly safety meetings and will properly address all required safety and security paperwork.
  • Makes daily work schedules for staffing.
  • Manager will be able to perform all basic functions of a plant employee.
  • Follows all D.O.T. regulations, company policies, manufactures instructions, State and local laws and codes, and any other applicable laws, codes or regulations.

Education/Experience:

College or university program certificate preferred; or two to four years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Retail propane experience is highly desired.

Previous team management and or operationsexperience highly desired

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.

Delivery/routing systems experience highly desired

Certificates and Licenses:

Certified Employee Training: Basic Principles and Practices, Propane delivery, Fuel Oils, Distribution systems. Valid Commercial Driver's Licensewith Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Propane and Fuel department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
