Harry Potter: The Exhibition is a touring experience that delights fans worldwide with authentic film props, exclusive behind-the-scenes looks, and fun interactive surprises. Feel the nostalgia and the magic while celebrating some of your favorite moments from the Harry Potter series.
POSITION SCOPE: The HPX Exhibition Tech duties include the maintenance and repair of the Exhibition and all its properties, while maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and standard maintenance work including, but not limited to, prop upkeep, inventory, general troubleshooting, and assisting the Lead Exhibition Technician when needed.
  • Exhibition Scenic/Tech Support should possess a broad knowledge of the exhibition field in general and an intimate knowledge of the HPX Exhibition in particular.
  • Must be able to identify and repair damage to Exhibition scenery and properties.
  • Should be experienced with completing preventative maintenance and daily show maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Supports the ongoing maintenance, cleaning of exhibits and displays, and supporting
  • installation of the exhibitions and facilities when required.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills: proven ability to recommend and implement process improvements and new initiatives.
  • Assists GM/AGM with movement of displays and props for shows.
  • Maintaining inventory of building materials, tools/equipment and exhibit consumables and orders supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a complete inventory and status reports for all exhibits and their associated AV, repair, and computer equipment, components, and casework.
  • Exhibition Scenic/Tech repairs, maintains, and assists installs displays, graphics, cases, stands, fixtures, and accessories.
  • Assist company and partner with all special events to include corporate.
  • Ensuring safe transfer and shipping of equipment and exhibit pieces.
  • Rigger experience preferred.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • 1-3 years of experience working as handyman, with basic carpentry and painting.
  • Preferred but not required Audio Disruption locally or across data network (Dante)
  • Preferred but not required Media playback and devices (Brightsign, PCS)
  • Must be mechanically inclined with basic shop skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and climb ladder up to 32 feet.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be proficient with hand and battery-operated tools and materials while operating various types of equipment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in activities requiring manual dexterity of both hands.
  • Primarily an onsite position.
