Overview

The Sr. Legal Counsel (Regulatory & Compliance) at Crocs Inc will drive regulatory strategy by partnering closely with the business to navigate legal requirements, assess and mitigate risk and build scalable compliance frameworks that support business growth. The ideal candidate brings deep experience as a regulatory/compliance attorney supporting consumer goods brands and will be able to confidently and strategically support Crocs Inc.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead global regulatory and compliance strategy for the business, proactively identifying risk, shaping governance frameworks, and advising senior stakeholders on complex legal and regulatory matters with enterprise impact.
  • Manage global product compliance programs, including coordination of physical and chemical testing protocols (e.g., REACH, CPSIA, CA Prop 65, ASTM standards) in partnership with compliance, product development, and sourcing teams.
  • Advise on and oversee labeling and packaging requirements across all markets, including country-of-origin, material composition, care instructions, and consumer warning disclosures.
  • Track and assess evolving global regulatory requirements applicable to footwear and accessories, including Green Claims, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and product-specific import/export regulations, and translate requirements into actionable business guidance by proactively delivering clear, pragmatic guidance.
  • Develop and administer supplier compliance programs, including contractual compliance requirements, audit coordination, and corrective action management for third‑party manufacturers.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for key regulatory matters, audits, and external counsel relationships, optimizing legal spend and driving consistency and quality across outside advisors and vendors, including testing labs, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Influence and lead through others by mentoring legal colleagues and partnering with leaders outside of direct reporting lines to drive consistent, high‑quality legal and compliance outcomes at scale.
  • Shape enterprise‑wide approach to compliance and risk by contributing to cross‑functional initiatives, policy development, and governance models that span regions, brands, or business units.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
  • 8+ years of relevant experience as a practicing attorney including significant experience advising on regulatory, compliance, and complex commercial or technology matters for consumer goods, preferably with footwear or apparel companies.
  • Ideally with at least 2 years of in‑house experience (either as an in‑house lawyer or working with in‑house lawyers).
  • Disciplined self‑starter with excellent work ethic having ability to re‑prioritize when faced with competing pressures and demands.
  • Admitted to the bar of at least one U.S. State and in good standing.
  • Significant experience leading regulatory risk management, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk across business operations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in addition to interpersonal skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and proficiency on cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, team environment.
  • Able to positively impact cross‑functional teams to achieve business goals.

Title: Sr. Legal Counsel (Regulatory & Compliance)

Salary or Pay Range: $180,000 – $195,000
