Job description

WAVY-TV 10/ WVBT FOX43 is searching for a dynamic HAMPTON ROADS SHOW INTERN who wants to work alongside producers to plan and prep our daily lifestyle and entertainment show Duties would include floor directing during the show, greeting and putting mics on guests, prop set up and take down, clean/wrapping set after each show, moving cameras, kitchen cleanup, posting stories to the website.
This is an UNPAID / FOR-CREDIT position for the Fall semester 2026 only.
We are looking for someone with courses completed in communications, tv production, journalism, theater or related field. Must have the ability to stay calm under tight deadlines and use good communication skills with the team as well as guests of the show. Interns set up and clean up studio, take photos in the studio, and serve as a floor director during the show. Please include relevant coursework in resume/application.
The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern *must be* enrolled in a college degree granting program, and *will be required* to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
12-15 morning hours per week on site on some weekdays. Specific times of days Monday through Friday may vary and will be set in agreement with supervisor.
