Job description

LOCATION
Bahia Resort Hotel
Since opening in 1953, the Bahia Resort Hotel has been a hospitality leader in San Diego. Tucked away on a fourteen-acre peninsula in Mission Bay, the 314-room resort is a beachside escape for experiencing the best of America's Finest City.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Mow, edge, string trim, and maintain turf grass with safe operation of grounds equipment including 21" electric mower, electric string trimmer, electric lawn edger, and electric blower.
  • Maintain shrub beds, trim, detail, and fertilize.
  • Install, maintain, and fertilize annual and perennial color beds.
  • Install and transplant trees and shrubs.
  • Perform basic irrigation/sprinkler repairs.
  • Remove refuse and trash from grounds.
  • Safely operate 4-wheel ATV with trailer to set up and remove beach chairs and umbrellas.
  • Practices good housekeeping techniques, including maintaining a safe work environment and an organized and clean work area.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
