Job description

Events & Promotions Representative:

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the Events & Promotions Representative will be responsible for execution of all events and promotions held at JACK ThistleDown Racino.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares promotion areas for promotions and events.
  • Executes promotions, assisting patrons participating in promotions by helping them swipe into invitation programs, distributing gifts, and aiding with any task regarding a promotion.
  • Staff special event registration areas.
  • Ensures that promotions/event areas are stocked with necessary supplies, decorations and secures items at conclusion of promotion/event.
  • Ensures collateral material for promotions and events are displayed prior to and recovered at the conclusion of each project.
  • Ensures guests qualify for entry by swiping their card in CMP
  • Use Atrient and Power Kiosk to track players and verify qualification for promotions when applicable.
  • Ensures data is accurate and maintains integrity of data.
  • Promotes ClubJACK programs and card membership.
  • Verifies all funds or gift card values at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensures accountability of all transactions through verification and documentation of exchanges.
  • Responsible for balancing and maintaining promotions bank (Gift Cards and cash)
  • Responsible for ensuring that all prize-winner forms are completed properly and turned in for processing.
  • Tracks inventories and expenses for each assigned project.
  • Act as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to JACK Thistledown and JACK Entertainment and encourages others to do the same.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by department.
  • Inventory promotional merchandise on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis as requested or required, updating Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain records, charts, and graphs of promotions on a monthly basis.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have excel and Microsoft office knowledge at an above proficient level
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be able to deal with guests in a casino environment.
  • Must have previous experience in the hospitality, retail or casino industry.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must have excel and Microsoft office knowledge at an above proficient level
  • Must be 21 years of age

Required Certification/License

  • Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission license
